Cheung Chau Theatre is one of the oldest local preserved pre-war theaters from the 1930s. It was built at the same time as Yau Ma Tei Theatre and is also classified as a Grade III historic building. It was completed in 1931 and closed down in 1997. After waiting for 26 years, undergoing extensive exploration, restoration, and planning, Cheung Chau Theatre has reopened under the name of inheriting cultural venues and once again raised its silver screen. It opened on August 21st! Everyone can experience the filming scenes of real movies at Cheung Chau Theatre, and there are workshops to participate in! The park management stated that the original site of Cheung Chau Theatre is still undergoing restoration work and will be transformed into a restaurant, expected to open in 2025!

How to Get There | Cheung Chau can be accessed by ferries from the Central Pier No.5 (Journey time: Ordinary ferry: 55-60 minutes / Fast ferry: 35-40 minutes). Directions from the Cheung Chau piers to Saiyuen: |
On Foot: Make a right turn towards the Municipal Services Building, walk along the coastal Sai Tai Road (approx. 20 minutes) to Tsan Tuen Road, then walk up the hill until you reach the red entrance gate at Peak Road. |

Bicycle: Saiyuen provides bicycle parking for free. Space is limited; tricycles and canopied surries are not permitted. Bicycle rental shops can be found along the way to Saiyuen. |

Kaito: To take the Kaito boat to the western (Sai Wan) pier, upon disembarking from the ferry, look for an inland pier with white canopy roof on the right side of Cheung Chau Pier and ask for Kaito service to Sai Wan.
