Lo Wu Port is the busiest and largest land border control station in Hong Kong, with a dedicated visitor hall for immigration procedures. After the cancellation of black codes, there has been a slight decrease in crowds at Lo Wu Port.

In addition, citizens and travellers can also use the mobile application of the Immigration Department to check the estimated waiting time for crossing at various land border control points anytime and anywhere, in order to plan their itinerary and reduce queueing time. Lo Wu Port 2024| Customs Clearance Process

Starting from November 1, 2023, the “Health Declaration Card,” commonly known as the “Black Code,” has been officially canceled. All inbound and outbound travellers can pass through directly. If passengers experience any discomfort afterwards, they only need to proactively report it to customs personnel.

Process for traveling to Mainland China:

1. Use the smart identity card to exit Hong Kong
2. Enter Mainland China with the “Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents”

Return to Hong Kong process:

1. Exit mainland China with a “Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents”
2. Enter Hong Kong with an intelligent identity card

Transportation methods to Lo Wu Port from Shenzhen:

• Subway: You can get off at Lo Wu Station exits A1, A2, or A3 on Line 1 and walk for about 3 minutes to reach the port.
• Bus stops: There are public bus services available at the Train Station and Jian She Road San Dao Terminal.
