The Tale Reimagined
Kongkee’s animated film “Dragon’s Delusion” is the centerpiece of this exhibition. Following the poet Qu Yuan’s tragic self-drowning, Kongkee reimagines his awakening in a cyberpunk future. This realm is rich with cyborgs and unexpected romantic encounters, beautifully encapsulating Kongkee’s philosophical musings on the past and the enduring influence of Qu Yuan’s poetic language.
An Immersive Experience
“Kongkee Warring States Cyberpunk” is not just an art exhibition; it’s an immersive experience. It features a large-scale LED installation and site-specific neon artworks that transform Tai Kwun’s heritage site into a mesmerizing cyberpunk universe. This fusion of the past and the future provides a unique perspective on both eras, inviting visitors to traverse through time and imagination.
New Site-Specific Works
For the presentation at Tai Kwun’s Duplex Studio, Kongkee has developed new artworks specifically connected to Hong Kong, reflecting on the contemporary world. This exhibition, initially organized by the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and curated by Abby Chen, is co-curated by Ying Kwok for Tai Kwun Contemporary.

Join guided tours, led by art professionals and educators, to gain deeper insights into Kongkee’s works. These tours, presented in collaboration with curator Sunnie Chan, graphic designer Benny Leung, and curator Wu Jianru, offer an engaging perspective on Kongkee’s creative process, techniques, and inspirations.
