The shuttle bus service known as the ‘Golden Bus’ operating on the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the cheapest and most convenient 24-hour option. The route is divided into the ‘Hong Kong-Macao line’ and ‘Hong Kong-Zhuhai line’. A single journey from Hong Kong to Zhuhai costs $65 (children and elderly at $33), with night fares at $70 (children and elderly at $35). The night time designated hours are from 00:00 to 05:59, meaning post-work travel is charged at daytime rates.

To board the ‘Golden Bus’ from Hong Kong Port, travellers must first reach the port. The most direct way from the city is by taking an airport bus terminating at Hong Kong Port. For those buses not going directly to the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Hong Kong Port, free bus transfers are available at the airport. For those taking the MTR to Lantau Island, shuttle buses can be taken from Tung Chung Station or Sunny Bay Station.
