Chinese New Year Parade 2024 | Evening Float Procession and Japanese Group Avantgardey’s Performance
Set for the evening of the first day of the Lunar New Year, the Chinese New Year Parade 2024 in Tsim Sha Tsui is poised to deliver an array of stunning performances in celebration of the Year of the Dragon. Featuring thematic floats in a grand procession, various international and local performance groups will bring the parade to life with their vibrant dances and songs. The celebration starts with a pre-parade street party at 6 PM, followed by the main parade at 8 PM. The Tourism Board anticipates an audience of 150,000, with traffic arrangements post-event being coordinated with government departments.
From February 11th to 25th, the beautiful floats will be on display at the Tsim Sha Tsui Centenary Park. Following the parade and performance, everyone will have the opportunity to get a closer look at the floats and take memorable photographs!

The parade this year is a canvas of thematic creativity. The Cathay Pacific float, marrying tradition with innovation, promises to be a standout feature, displaying its distinctive charm. Other eye-catching floats from Hong Kong Disneyland and Ocean Park will reflect the multifaceted allure of Hong Kong. The Hong Kong Jockey Club float, glimmering with elegance, will display luxury and thrill, while the Tourism Board’s float will be adorned with a dragon dance crafted from lucky windmills, set against a radiant skyline. Adding to the festive spirit, beloved cartoon characters Mr. Men Little Miss will also appear, spreading joy and festive cheer from the floats.

The festivities commence at 6:00 PM with a vibrant street performance party, engaging with the audience for an unforgettable New Year’s celebration. Everyone is invited to join this global party in Hong Kong during the Spring Festival to experience the dynamic charm of this traditional holiday and welcome spring with blessings.

Chinese New Year Parade 2024 | Audience Seating Prices
Audience seats will be set up at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, Canton Road, and Nathan Road to view the “Cathay New Year International Performance Night”. Tickets are priced at HK$300, HK$450, and HK$480.

Tickets go on sale on January 27, 2024 (Saturday) at 8 AM at the Tourism Board’s Kowloon Visitor Centre (located at the Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier). Sales are on a first-come-first-served basis until sold out.
Chinese New Year Parade 2024 | A Look Back at 2019
Looking back at the last parade in 2019, organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board with a budget of HK$19 million, it revolved around the theme “Start the Year with Luck and Happiness”. Featuring nine floats, including some themed after zodiac animals, this year’s dragon-themed offerings are highly anticipated.
